Beating Blackjack with Andy BlochAndy is regarded as one of the world’s preeminent blackjack players. His notoriety is largely tied to his role as a player and manager of the infamous M.I.T. Blackjack Team, as chronicled in the Ben Mezrich’s book, Bringing Down the House. Andy won so much money counting cards that he’s now listed on the “Griffin List” of known card counters, and no longer allowed by any casino to employ the tactics described in his new DVD, Beating Blackjack with Andy Bloch. Although he’s rarely seen playing blackjack, his celebrity in conjunction with the M.I.T. Blackjack team has been featured in the documentary “The Hot Shoe”(2003), Fox’s reality series “Casino” (2004), the BBC Horizon show “Making Millions the Easy Way” (2005), and GSN’s recent expose on the team in their series, “Anything to Win” (2006).

Only Andy knows how much he won playing blackjack.

Since becoming a professional poker player in 2002, Andy has excelled on the tournament circuit. He has eight WPT finishes in the money and top finishes in many other tournaments. In 2005, he won the $10,000 buy-in Ultimate Poker Challenge II championship event and won his first WSOP circuit title at the Rio.

Andy is truly unique – he earned an engineering degree from M.I.T and a law degree from the Harvard Law School, yet he makes his living as a professional blackjack and poker player. He has passed the bar exam and has practiced law exactly once. He won the 2003 Roshambo (rock, paper, scissors) World Championship. Currently, he continues to draft briefs, play the stock market, and travel around the world from tournament to tournament.
